A Toast to Carrie: A Sparkling Retrospective
Spring Park Wine Circle
After six unforgettable visits to the Spring Park Wine Circle, we gathered for a bittersweet occasion: the final farewell presentation by Carrie from Spirits & Sparkles. Known for her expert palate and infectious enthusiasm, Carrie curated a "Greatest Hits" collection, bringing back the definitive favourites that defined her residency with us.
The Presentation: The Final Six
Carrie didn't just pour wine; she revisited the story of our club’s journey. She selected three standout whites and three iconic reds that captured our collective palate over the last year:
- Duc de Orny Piquepoul de Pinet (2025): A crisp, vibrant refresher that reminded us why this became our go-to "sunshine in a glass."
- Claude Val Blanc (2024): The crowd-pleasing blend that always impressed with its easy-going elegance and balance.
- Biscardo Oropasso (2023): A sophisticated highlight of our white wine tastings, beloved for its rich texture and floral notes.
- JCM Reserve Pinot Noir (2024): A masterclass in delicacy, this bottle proved that a refined, silky red could hold its own at any meeting.
- Baglio Gibellina U. Passimiento (2024): The bold, sun-drenched Sicilian favourite that won us over with its intense fruit and velvety finish.
- Man Meets Mountain Malbec (2024): A powerhouse to round out the selection, delivering the deep, reliable character we’ve come to love from the high altitudes of Mendoza.
The Atmosphere
While there was a touch of sadness in the air, the evening was primarily one of celebration. Carrie’s ability to remember our specific preferences made the night feel deeply personal. As expected, she didn't disappoint; the pours were generous, the pairings were spot-on, and her insights were as sharp as ever.
Final Reflections
Carrie has been more than just a presenter; she has been a guide through the vast world of viticulture. Her departure marks the end of an era for Spring Park Wine Circle. we are immensely grateful for the passion she poured into every session and the way she elevated our appreciation for every glass.
To Carrie: May your glass always be full and your future ventures be as bright as a vintage Champagne. You will be missed!
